Tile Popping with Alpha Kwekerij

Tile popping is gaining momentum: remove concrete, add green. Alpha Kwekerij saw an opportunity to make greening cities easier and more effective, with a solution that directly meets growing demand.

The Challenge
How can a removed paving stone be instantly replaced with greenery—no loose plants, no complex installation? The goal: a sustainable growing tray in tile format, pre-grown with plants.

Our Solution
Voges developed a growing tray T30628050 made from recycled materials, precisely sized to match a standard paving stone. Alpha Kwekerij grows the plants directly in the tray, creating a mature, ready-to-plant green layer. After popping the tile, the tray can be placed directly into the empty space.

The Result
A fast, practical, and sustainable way to green urban spaces. No loose soil or hassle: tile out, green tray in. Together, Alpha Kwekerij and Voges offer a smart, scalable solution for municipalities, landscapers, and residents looking to boost biodiversity and climate resilience.
